Russia, Sanctions from software companies such as google, apple has affected everyday Russians

Most recently, on Feb 24, 2022, Russia has initiated a relentless invasion of its adjacent Ukraine. In terms of its restriction against Russia, The European Union has enforced the new restrictions on social media and search engines companies' power to share content from Russian state media outlets Sputnik and RT.

In a statement to Google, The European Commission informed search engines should delete all search results which include links to or even "short textual descriptions" of Sputnik and RT content. Social media sites must block rebroadcasting content and posts linking from any outlet. It includes the big tech giants such as Google and Apple to control Russia to pressure the country to withdraw from its war. 

Russia is highly dependent on internet service. The international restrictions have removed most of the services from the Russian government and abroad. After many years of living in a developing country, an internationally integrated society, Russians find themselves in a country hugely isolated from the world. Google and Apple have played a vital role to end the conflict over Ukraine.

Google:

• Google has sanctioned its Map features inside Ukraine’s borders. Google company has switched off this map feature to ignore the military personnel and huge civilian groups in the microscope. 

• Google has bolstered cybersecurity on more than a hundred Ukrainian websites and blocked every YouTube channel around Europe associated with Sputnik and ST.

• Moreover, Google introduced its Search tool to instruct people looking for asylum to the supportive United Nations resources. This decision is the best part of a huge attempt to combat Russia’s online influence.

• Google deleted their apps such as Opposition Leader Alexey Navalny, Smart Voting app, and much more. 

• Every google website is restricted to the Russian people. It displays 403 forbidden errors. 

• Russian people are no longer able to use Google pay. It affected the Russian people to use the payment systems for their everyday needs.

Apple:

• Apple has taken serious action. It suspended every product sale surrounding Russia’s borders and sanctioned necessary operations for all Russian citizens with Apple devices. Russian news apps Sputnik and RT are removed from the App Store.

• Apple company also shut down all the live incident reports and traffic reports on Apple Maps to avoid armed forces and civilians.

• Apple has removed the access to Apple Pay for all the Russian people. 

All these restrictions from big social media and tech companies such as Google and Apple help to the peaceful solution for the Ukraine people. It removes the huge pressure on Ukraine people. Moreover, Without the interference of the Russian people, Apple and Google company have helped the Ukrainian activist and citizens. Everything stopped suddenly, Russian become jobless and underwent unprecedented financial loss. 

In an effort to prevent Russian President Vladimir Putin by non-stop invasion, restrictions that affected the Russian economy are emerging to have a major impact on the daily lives of ordinary Russians.
